Orphans of Doom is an American post-metal band from Kansas City, Missouri. Centered in heavy riffage, the band takes you on a journey of melodic dueling lead guitars over driving bass and primal drums. Their new album “Realms” expands on their previous full lengths “Strange World/Fierce Gods” & “II”, with a more melodic, sludgier, progressive direction. Over 9 songs, Realms explores different dimensions that all fall prey to a nefarious force. Some realms triumph while others are destroyed. With sparse vocals, and very dense instrumental passages, there is something for every post-metal enthusiast.
"In a time where most of the music scene has been defined by reaffirming existing practices and taking occasional baby-steps into less familiar territory, it is refreshing to see some younger acts out there taking some sizable risks and coming out with something highly listenable in the process."
– Jonathan Smith, Sonic Perspectives - 2020
"Orphans Of Doom debut album Strange Worlds/Fierce Gods is a mighty throwback to the good old days of Sludge/Post-Metal with heavy elements of Doom/Stoner Metal grooves. Throw in a dash of psychedelic weirdness and you have an album that takes the early thunderous days of Baroness and injects it with the spaced out worldly sounds of VYGR."
– Steve Howe, Outlaws of the Sun - 2018
